S4- The Long Lost King

Image
[Brother Amsel Ur (Bill), his bodyguard Ferris D’Gerum (Ray), guide/physician Hawkin Godling (Julian), Hepekarian scholar Moc’alm (Jen)] They moved further from the Owlbear nest before making camp. Ferris gathered wood for a campfire but also found sturdy fir to craft a replacement staff for Brother Amsel. It was a restful night under the stars along the spine of the Rayesha Mountains . Next Day : Sunrise glistened off Lake Benath to their east while casting long but dwindling shadows over Rethem to the west. They followed the cobblestone road along the spine they assumed connected the dwarven underground cities of lore. Moc-alm took hope his Hepekarian forebearers followed this same road centuries ago. “Look! An engraved flower upon that rock. Sunflowers are prominent in my lands.” Hours of trudging till they came upon a stone pillar with dwarfish runes, “Do you suppose this is a way-marker, listing leagues to their next city?” The road came and went, broken by upheavals ov...

S3- Legends of a Dwarven Kingdom [Brother Amsel Ur (Bill), his bodyguard Ferris D’Gerum (Ray), guide/physician Hawkin Godling (Julian), Hepekarian scholar Moc’alm (Jen)] Coranan : High Priest Jorom Borskin had suggested they journey to Shiran regarding the staff they found in the crypt near Rouhardy. Thus, they booked passage with a caravan for the 5-day journey northeast toward Shiran, short of the shoreline of Lake Benath .   Ferris as caravan guard, Hawkin as healer, and Amsel as… baggage with a prayer book. The caravan stopped in Esuron to pickup pottery and textiles for future sale nearer the lake. They passed the smaller village of Hibut that offered a female-only religious sect. Telen offered trade in potty and stone, along with excellent Telen wine to cleanse their pallet. Ferris and Hawkin were reluctant to leave the province capital known for its hedonism (Vegas sin city) and luxurious goods (perfumes and colorful dyes). Another trade-stop in Peden quenched their ...

S2- Well, That’s Can’t Be Good [Brother Amsel Ur (Bill), his bodyguard Ferris D’Gerum (Ray), guide/physician Hawkin Godling (Julian)] The Camp : Sunset put an orange hue upon the western trees as Ferris led them into the clearing of the rabble-rouser camp. Hawkin’s calls “We come in peace” went unanswered as they neared the 3 crude structures of wooden walls and tarp roofs. Stacks of felled trees and lumber implied intent to grow the camp. Stacked and mortared stone ringed an obvious well near the center of the camp. Even the insects seemed to have deserted the place as silence prevailed. “Thump, thump.” Amsel turned towards the nearest hut whose crude door swung with the breeze. Ferris was the first to notice the scratch marks upon the door and frame: pummeled, damaged by improvised weapons. The lock busted from the outside. The scent in the air and the low buzzing sound foretold what lay within. He raised his own blade in one hand while he raised the other to hold back broth...

S1- After the Scoundrel

Image
[Brother Amsel Ur (Bill), his bodyguard Ferris D’Gerum (Ray), guide/physician Hawkin Godling (Julian)] Spring of the year 720 in Thardic Republic, in the capital city- Coranan : They sat outside the chamber till the acolyte called them in, “High Priest Jorom Borskin will see you now.” The elder/balding Borskin sat in his green vestments (Spring colors) behind a stack of books as he absentmindedly twirled his ear hairs. “Good of you to come brother Amsel. I hope you’ve had time to meet Ferris and Hawkin. There is an item of church concern I’d like the three-of-you to look into. A scoundrel by the name of (Magdar Uthur) broke into the chapel and made off with gold and the begging bowl of Saint Roget. Not sure why the bowl since it only has sentimental value -nothing of real wealth nor magical properties. From what we’ve heard, he crossed the border into Rethem to the village of Rouhardy. Maybe he has family there. Anyway, we need you to retrieve the bowl.” Ferris added, “And of Magd...

Intro

OK. The pitch for this campaign is that your characters are in eastern Rethem looking for someone. the exact details are up to you. Some ideas: ·          A family member or friend of one of the PCs went missing. ·          The PCs are bounty hunters hired by a powerful guild to find someone who cheated the guild. ·          The PCs are working for a local lord to track down a troublemaker. Except for Chybisa, all feudal kingdoms on Hârn are divided into judicial provinces called shires, which are subdivided into hundreds. By design, the boundaries of shires and hundreds often cut through the holdings of great nobles, which creates some interesting judicial problems. The chief royal officer of a shire is called a Sheriff (shire-reeve); that of a hundred is termed the Bailiff of the Hundred.   Gerdel Hundred (a chunk of land) is the general backdrop in w...
